2010 TIU Alumni Association Scholarship

The Office of Alumni & Parent Relations is pleased to announce this year's recipient of the TIU Alumni Association Scholarship, Meagan Nunes, daughter of Jedsen (BA '89) and Heidi Holberg (TC '83-'85) Nunes.

Including her parents, Meagan has over twenty relatives who are alumni of Trinity. Their legacy of attending Trinity goes as far back as the 1920’s. Friends, family, faculty, and staff, describe her as a “studious but not isolated” honors program student and as having a “compassionate heart for people.” Throughout her time at Trinity, Meagan's co-curricular activities have included missions trips to Spain and Romania, serving in a community outreach in Wheeling, and participating in a service project in South Chicago. Last summer she helped with the Jr. High group at the Libertyville Evangelical Free Church, but she has chosen to make the Chinese Christian Union Church North her church home while here at Trinity. On top of all this, Meagan has worked regularly on campus, taken extra classes, and made significant sacrifices in an attempt to graduate in three years.

The purpose of the TIU Alumni Association Scholarship Award is to honor an undergraduate student who is the son or daughter of a Trinity alumnus or alumna and is excelling in academics while expressing an affinity for the future success of Trinity. Consideration is given to campus and community leadership, as well as to academics.
