Former Dean of Trinity College Passes Away
Dr. J. Edward Hakes, former VP for Undergraduate Studies and Dean of the College, passed away on February 23, 2012 in Baltimore, Maryland. Hakes served at Trinity from 1969-1979, during which time he impacted the lives of hundreds of students with his dignity, his sincerity and his sarcastic sense of humor. Trinity Alumna Receives Appointment from Gov. Rick Perry
TGS alumna Dr. Beverly Nuckols (MA '07) was recently appointed by Texas Governor Rick Perry to the Board of Directors of the Texas Institute for Health Care Quality and Efficiency. Click here to read the full story.



"Pastoral Graces"
Pastor Lee Eclov (BA '73, MDiv '83), Trinity alumnus and TEDS adjunct faculty member, has written his first book, Pastoral Graces. Through word pictures and stories, Pastor Lee seeks to equip readers to understand their calling, and reinvigorate pastors' instincts for grace in the churches they shepherd in the midst of demands, expectations and difficult circumstances in which they minister.

Os Guinness: "Can Freedom Last Forever?"
Os Guinness recently kicked off the RZIM Lecture Series at TIU with a chapel message on the topic “Can Freedom Last Forever? The Founders’ Forgotten Question, and How We Are Doing Today.” Watch his message on the Trinity YouTube channel.

"Running for Hope" Annual Run/Walk
Running for Hope, founded by TEDS alum Elie Hasbani (MAR '02, DMin '09), is holding their annual run/walk on Saturday, May 19 at Brown Deer Park in Milwaukee. This year, participants can choose to run a 5K or 10K, or opt to walk a 3K course. Registration is currently open, so sign up today on Running for Hope's website.

Dr. D.A. Carson Publishes New Book
TEDS Professor Dr. D.A. Carson recently released his new book, "The Intolerance of Tolerance," in which he looks at the ways what we understand as "tolerance" has changed over the years, and what that means for us today.



Professor Sundene Co-Authors Book on Discipleship
Associate Professor of Christian Ministries, Jana Sundene (MA '00) has co-authored a book with former Trinity professor Rick Dunn. Shaping the Journey of Emerging Adults offers guidance for individuals who shepherd emerging adults in their twenties and early thirties.

TEDS Professor Dr. D.A. Carson will lead a main session at the 2012 Gospel Coalition Women's Conference, speaking on the topic "Home at Last: The Spectacular God at the Center", based on Rev 21-22.

TEDS Professor Dr. D.A. Carson will be giving several lectures at Queensland Theological College in Brisbane looking back on how New Testament writers read the Old Testament, and also looking toward the future of Christianity. These lectures are open to anyone who wishes to attend.
